In DyPd$$_3$$S$$_4$$, powder neutron diffraction, specific heat, and magnetization measurements revealed an antiferroquadrupolar transition at T$$_Q$$=2.7 K, and two magnetic transitions at T$$_{N1}$$=0.84 K and T$$_{N2}$$=0.55 K. We performed resonant X-ray diffraction experiments at the Dy-$$L_3$$ absorption edge to study the states of multipolar ordering in a single crystal of DyPd$$_3$$S$$_4$$ at BL22XU in SPring-8. We measure the diffraction intensity of the 300 forbidden reflection for $$pi$$-$$pi$$' and $$pi$$-$$sigma$$' scattering processes as a function of temperature. No intensity is observed for the $$pi$$-$$pi$$' scattering process. On the other hand, for the $$pi$$-$$sigma$$' scattering process, the intensity grows below T$$_{Q}$$ and is therefore unambiguously related to the multipolar order parameter. We report detailed results obtained under magnetic field too.
