Ion track formation in UO $_{2}$ irradiated with high energy ions

High energy ions were irradiated to UO $_{2}$ . The damage trail called ion-track is observed using transmission electron microscope. It is found that the electronic stopping power dependence of ion-track size disagrees with that predicted from preexisting ion-track formation model.
