Optimization of GT5D code on Peta-scale machines

Idomura, Yasuhiro

Plasma transport induced by turbulent fluctuations is a key issue in improving the performance of magnetic fusion devices such as ITER. First principle simulations based on 5D gyrokinetic model are essential in understanding and predicting plasma transport. However, numerical experiments for ITER size device require further improvements in computational performance. This work presents computational techniques essential for Peta-scale gyrokientic simulations.
