原子力の初学者向けに、その基礎である原子核物理についての解説を行う。項目は、(1)原子質量の性質、(2)原子質量の大局的性質と半経験的原子質量公式、(3)原子核質量模型の現状、(4)原子核崩壊、(5)アルファ崩壊、(6)陽電子とミューオンの6項目である。それぞれについて基礎的な概念を解説し、最近の研究の進展について紹介する。

Six topics on nuclear physics are reviewed for beginners on nuclear energy: (1) atomic mass, (2) Bulk property of nuclear masses and semi-empirical mass formula, (3) current status on nuclear mass models, (4) nuclear decay, (5) alpha-decay, and (6) positron and muon. For each topic we give a short explanation on fundamental idea and recent research progress.
