Development of high-level liquid waste conditioning technology for advanced nuclear fuel cycle, 20; Synthesis of ceramics waste forms containing dissolution

Kurosaki, Ken*; Oishi, Yuji*; Muta, Hiroaki*; Yamanaka, Shinsuke*; Morita, Yasuji

Development of high-level liquid waste (HLW) conditioning technology for advanced nuclear fuel cycle was conducted for the purpose of the reduction of potential problems in the verification process for HLW. It includes development of separation technology for Mo, Pd and Ru from HLW and development of separate treatment of the insoluble residue. As solidification method for insoluble residue, the composite materials of Mo-Ru-Rh-Pd alloys, Pd metal and RuO$$_{2}$$ were prepared by spark plasma sintering method and the characterization of the solidified materials was performed by examining their microstructure and phase state. These materials were solidified by hot-press methods. Mixed phases of Mo-Ru-Rh-Pd alloys, Pd metal and newly appeared phase of Mo metal were observed in the solidified materials.
