Yamanishi, Toshihiko; Tanigawa, Hiroyasu; Nozawa, Takashi; Nakamichi, Masaru; Hoshino, Tsuyoshi; Nishitani, Takeo

The R&D on DEMO blanket related materials and tritium technology has been started by both the EU and Japan. In accordance with the common interest of the EU and Japan, the followings subjects have been applied: reduced activation ferritic martensitic (RAFM) steels; silicon carbide composites (SiCf/SiC): advanced tritium breeders and neutron multiplier; and tritium. The above R&D subjects have been carried out by JAEA with many Japanese Universities. The DEMO R&D building has been constructed on March 2010, and necessary equipment has been installed into the building. The licensing of usage of RI species and the carry of RI species such as tritium has successfully finished. The recent results on the above mentioned R&D activities have been reported.
