Spectral measurement of picosecond optical pulses by optogalvanic spectroscopy

We measured power spectrum of the picosecond pulses generated from a homemade Ti:Sapphire narrow-band laser by using optogalvanic spectroscopy of argon, which is a lower-cost method than using optical spectrum analyzers. This method can be used for the pulse whose linewidth is about 1.0-10 cm$$^{-1}$$.
