Study of heavy-ion induced fission for heavy-element synthesis

Nishio, Katsuhisa

In-beam fission study for heavy element synthesis will be presented. Fusion reactions using actinide target nuclei are important to produce the relatively neutron-rich superheavy nuclei (SHN). Precise prediction to determine the cross sections of SHN is important to make an experimental plan and strategy. We propose how to determine the fusion probability in the measurement of fission fragment properties produced in heavy-ion induced reactions. The experiments were carried out at the JAEA tandem facility.
