石油や天然ガスなど地下資源が豊富なカザフスタン共和国において、産業創成の観点から高温熱利用に特化した高温ガス炉システムの早期実用化に向けた議論が開始されている。原子力機構では、カザフスタンからの要請を受け、高温ガス炉を熱源として利用する天然ガスのGas-To-Liquid(GTL)資源改質産業への適用可能性検討に着手した。

From the viewpoint of creation of new industries, discussion on early deployment of High-Temperature Gas-cooled reactor (HTGR) system specialized for heat utilization has been started in the Republic of Kazakhstan which is abundant in underground resources such as oil and natural gas. Based on the request from Kazakhstan, JAEA has set about making inquiries on applicability of heat from HTGR to Gas-To-Liquid (GTL) reforming industries.
