Polarized neutron scattering using triple axis spectrometers

Wakimoto, Shuichi

Neutron scattering cross-section by matter includes nuclear scattering and magnetic scattering. By using polarized neutrons, one can distinguish these two components and can obtain information of magnetic moment and spin arrangements. In addition, one can get details of complicated magnetic structure, such as a helical spin structure. In this article, neutron scattering techniques using triple axis spectrometers are reviewed.
