Development of Hyperon Time-Projection-Chamber (HypTPC) for the $$H$$-dibaryon search experiment at J-PARC

Hwang, S. H.*; Imai, Kenichi; Ahn, J. K.*

The H-dibaryon state was proposed as a most stable 6-quark state more than 30 years ago. There has been as yet no definitive observation of the stable H-dibaryon. Recently the H dibaryon was revisited in the lattice QCD calculations from NPLQCD and HAL QCD collaborations. They suggested that the H-dibaryon should exist around the two $$Lambda$$ threshold. KEK experiments (E224 and E522 Collaborations) reported the enhanced $$LambdaLambda$$ production near the two $$Lambda$$ threshold region, 12 MeV/c$$^2$$ above the threshold. E42 collaboration proposed to search for the H-dibaryon in $$LambdaLambda$$ production from $$(K^-,K^+)$$ reaction off nuclei by using a high-intensity $$K^-$$ beam at J-PARC with 100 times better statistics than KEK-E224 and E552 experiments. We plan to construct a large-acceptance hyperon spectrometer with a Time-Projection-Chamber (HypTPC) to detector $$LambdaLambda$$ particles, simultaneously $$K^{+}$$ particle is measured by the Kurama spectrometer.
