Change in various properties induced by swift heavy ion irradiation in CeO $_{2}$

In the present experiment, to obtain the fundamental knowledge of radiation effects on CeO $_{2}$ , CeO $_{2}$ pellets and films were irradiated with various energetic ions. To evaluate the effect of high energy ion irradiation on CeO $_{2}$ , we have used a con-ventional X-ray diffraction (XRD), Extended X-ray Absorption Fine Structure (EXAFS) spectroscopy, X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), and SQUID magne-tometer. In this symposium, we discuss the effects of ion irradiation on CeO $_{2}$ .
