Measurement of fission fragment mass distributions for actinide nuclei populated by nucleon-transfer reaction

Nishio, Katsuhisa

Fission fragment mass distributions for compound nuclei populated by multi-nucleon transfer reaction of $$^{18}$$O+$$^{238}$$U were measured at the JAEA tandem facility. Twelve compound nuclei for uranium, neptunium and plutonium were populated, and their fragment mass distributions in fission were measured as a function of excitation energy. The symmetric fission yield increases with excitation energy, showing the damping of the shell-correction energy. Future programs will be discussed.
