ANNRI at J-PARC and their applications

Harada, Hideo   ; Igashira, Masayuki*; Ebihara, Mitsuru*

Accurate Neutron-Nucleus Reaction Measurement Instrument (ANNRI) has been developed at the beam line 04 of Materials and Life Science Experimental Facility (MLF) of J-PARC. A high efficiency Ge spectrometer and a NaI(Tl) spectrometer installed in the ANNRI have been used to supply accurate neutron capture cross sections. By applying the world's most intense pulsed neutron beam and also developing new measurement techniques, neutron capture cross sections of highly radioactive nuclei such as Np-237, Am-241, and Cm-244 have been measured. The project using ANNRI titled as "Research on nuclear astrophysics, nuclear data, and trace-element analysis using pulsed neutrons" is going on. Since 2012, ANNRI is also open to outside users. Current status of ANNRI, developed measurement techniques, and recent topics at ANNRI will be reviewed.
