福島原発事故後のリスクコミュニケーションの実践,4; 放射線勉強会参加者の講演内容の理解と不安について

Risk communication practice after the Fukushima Nuclear Accident, 4; Relationship between participants' understandings and anxiety in the interactive public meetings on radiation and its health effect

福島原子力発電所事故の影響による過剰な不安の低減や情報伝達等を目的として、福島県において「放射線に関するご質問に答える会」を、茨城県において「放射線に関する勉強会」をそれぞれ開催している。実施後のアンケート解析結果から、講演内容の理解と不安解消には一定の関係性を認めることができた。また茨城県に比べ福島県の参加者の理解が低くなっている。この要因の一つとしては、福島県では茨城県よりも放射線量が比較的に高いことから、それに起因する住民の不安感が影響しているのではないかと考えている。

Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) has held public meetings on radiation and its health effects mainly for parents of kindergarten, elementary school, and junior high school students in Fukushima and Ibaraki prefectures after the Fukushima nuclear accident. The purpose of the meetings is to reduce the residents' anxiety, improve their knowledge of radiation, and convey exact information. By analyzing questionnaires obtained after the meeting, we confirmed that understanding of Fukushima participants were lower than Ibaraki participants. The reason of lower understanding in Fukushima was probably their higher anxiety compared to Ibaraki residents.
