Study of $$beta$$ delayed neutron with proton-neutron QRPA plus statistical model

Minato, Futoshi   ; Iwamoto, Osamu

Delayed neutron is one of factors for stable and safe operation of a nuclear reactor. Energy spectra of delayed neutron and neutrino emitted in beta-decay attract another interest in a connection with nuclear security, non-destructive analysis, and nuclear nonproliferation. Because of limitation of experiment of short-lived nuclei, a complementary work with theoretical approach is well-suited to complete a delayed neutron data. To this end, theoretical hybrid model using pnQRPA and Hauser-Feshbach statistical model is constructed. The present results of delayed neutron are compared with other theoretical models. It is found that the present model reproduces experimental data in a comparable level to the other models. The energy spectra of delayed neutron are also compared and discussed. We conclude that the present approach can be one of theoretical tools to provide a reliable beta-delayed neutron calculation of experimentally unmeasured neutron-rich nuclei.
