JAEA is now developing CT dose calculator named WAZA-ARI in cooperation with the Oita University of Nursing and Health Sciences. WAZA-ARI has been opened to the public as trial uses on 21 December 2012. To upgrade dose calculation functions of WAZA-ARI for full-dress uses, we developed the dose coefficients database sets based on infant phantoms with 5 ages (0y, 1y, 5y, 10y, 15y) and adult phantoms with 3 body sizes (-2$$sigma$$, +2$$sigma$$, +5$$sigma$$). These database sets represent that organ doses are strongly dependent on body sizes of phantoms. Thus, it can be concluded that these dose coefficients database sets are very useful for dose assessment derived from CT scans against patients with various body sizes in Japan.
