Double deformed-shell closure at Z=100 and N=152; The First observation of excited states in $$^{252}$$Fm

Energies of the first excited 2$$^{+}$$ states have been precisely measured for the first time for nine even-even actinide nuclei by means of $$alpha$$-$$gamma$$ coincidence measurement and high-resolution $$alpha$$ fine-structure measurement. It was found that the first excited 2$$^{+}$$ state energies in even-even actinide nuclei take the local minimum at $$^{252}$$Fm, which indicates the existence of the double deformed-shell closure at Z=100 and N=152.
