International movement of nuclear security and Japan's contribution to the world; Discussion of the 3rd Nuclear Security Summit in Hague and future effort

The third Nuclear Security Summit held in Hague on March 2014. In this Summit, the leaders of countries all over the world were aimed at confirming the progress of "to secure all vulnerable nuclear material in four years", "to accelerate their domestic approval of the 2005 Amendment to the CPPNM" and "voluntary measurers of participants to strengthening nuclear security" as described in the Washington and Seoul Summit Communique and so on. However, it is hard to say that above objectives were completely achieved. This paper outlines efforts on the Hague Summit and Japan's contribution to the world, and explains significance of the Summit, major issue to the next Summit and future effort.
