Surface alternations of Cr$$_{2}$$O$$_{3}$$-CoO-Al$$_{2}$$O$$_{3}$$-doped Iron-Phosphate Glasses containing simulated fission products on heating after water immersion test are investigated. Iron-phosphate glasses doped with Cr$$_{2}$$O$$_{3}$$-CoO-Al$$_{2}$$O$$_{3}$$ show quite high chemical durability. Valences of iron and doped Chromium ions have been found to play important roles to form water-resistant glass surface from the analysis of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).
