Activities towards establishment of the technological bases for DEMO in Japan

日本における原型炉の技術基盤構築に向けた活動

原型炉設計合同特別チームの活動として、日本の原型炉の開発戦略、原型炉に求められる基本概念、原型炉の構成要素の技術基盤構築について、特に「計測・制御開発」に関する技術課題について報告する。原型炉では強い放射線場に起因する様々な制約があるため、ITER計画で開発・整備される計測器の性能や運転実績を踏まえて、適用可能な必要最小限の計測器群に絞り込むことが重要である。特に、燃焼制御に必要な計測器の開発、耐放射線器機の開発、磁気計測の平衡制御精度の向上を行い、原型炉に適用し得る計測システムに見通しを得ることに加えて、実時間運転制御シミュレータの開発を行うことが必要である。

The development strategy for the establishment of technology bases required for Japanese DEMO is presented, especially the element of diagnostics and control systems. The core issue is to focus clusters of essential and applicable diagnostics based upon performance and operating results of diagnostics developed and prepared in ITER because of various constraints due to high irradiation field in DEMO. In particular, it is necessary to show the prospect of the DEMO relevant diagnostics through the development of essential diagnostics for burning control and radiation-proofed components, and improvement of accuracy of equilibrium control by magnetic measurements as well as to develop the real time operation control simulator.
