Recent progress on detailed design of the in-vessel components of the Microfission Chamber System for ITER

Ishikawa, Masao; Takeda, Keigo; Itami, Kiyoshi

In ITER, Japan Atomic Energy Agency procures the Microfission Chambers (MFC) system. The MFC is the important diagnostics system which measure total neutron emission rate from the plasma and evaluate fusion power from it. Detail designs such as load analyses, soundness verification tests and assembly/installation studies for the in-vessel components has been performed. The results indicated that the in-vessel component can withstand loads imposed during ITER operations and that installation and assembly scheme are clearly shown and that interface between the in-vessel components of the MFC are clearly defined.
