Initial value of monotonically decreasing power in criticality accident with instantaneous reactivity insertion

For a criticality accident due to instantaneous insertion of reactivity, an equation has been derived based on one-point kinetics, by which equation the initial value of monotonically decreasing power following the first peak is expressed as a function of the initial excess reactivity and other kinetics parameters. The results obtained by using the equation and one-point kinetics code, AGNES, were compared to each other and the maximum difference between them was confirmed to be within 15%.
