Residual stress evaluation in mechanical and structural materials using neutrons and synchrotron X-rays

I will describe the special characteristics of synchrotron X-rays and neutrons in stress measurements, and compare them with the characteristics of conventional laboratory X-rays and other stress measurement methods. A number of examples of the application of synchrotron X-ray and neutron stress measurement techniques to demonstrate their advantages will be presented.
