Development of the HypTPC for the J-PARC experiments

Hwang, S.

Hwang, S.

The Hyperon-Time-Projection-Chamber (HypTPC) is being built at the J-PARC hadron experimental facility to explore an existence of the H-dibaryon (E42) and the 3-body hadronic nucleon resonances (E45). The HypTPC has a cylindrical active volume of 500 mm diameter and 550 mm in length. The K- beams inject a side of HypTPC and the electrons drift downward along to the magnetic field. A gas electron multiplier (GEM) is employed to make a stable operation in a high-counting rate operation. A General Electronics for TPC (GET) is used in the pad readout with an induced charge in the pads and drift time of electrons. We are investigating an optimization of a full size of read-out pad of the HypTPC. In this talk, the detector R%D status and read-out system will be reported.
