Lattice distortion and the corresponding modification of an electronic state observed by neutron scattering

Shamoto, Shinichi

Modern scientific technologies have made it possible to increase the intensity of quantum beams. Owing to these developments, it becomes easy for us to observe tiny lattice distortions, at the same time, and their effects on the electronic structures. As neutron scattering research examples, negative thermal expansion material, Mn$$_{3}$$(Cu,Ge)N, iron-based superconductor, FeSe, and stripe phase of high-T$$_{c}$$ cuprates will be discussed to show the strong correlation between lattice and electron.
