Current status of Reactor Fuel Examination Facility

Reactor Fuel Examination Facility is one of the largest hot laboratories in Japan, dedicated to the post irradiation examinations for NPP fuels. It has 8 concrete cells and 5 lead cells equipped with manipulator arms, and many examinations have been performed such as the safety research for the nuclear fuels, the research activities for the decommissioning of Fukushima Dai-ichi NPP and the fundamental studies for the target materials of the proton accelerator.
