Current status and prospect on R&D of the heat utilization technology using the high-temperature gas-cooled reactor with superior safety

本報は、高温ガス炉を用いた熱利用技術開発の動向について解説したものである。高温ガス炉による熱利用について、高温ガス炉の概要、固有の安全性、高効率な熱利用、広範囲な熱利用分野の可能性について述べるとともに、熱利用技術の一端であり原子力機構で実施中のガスタービン発電、ISプロセス水素製造に関する技術開発状況のほか、経済性、将来の展望について概説した。

This report shows the current status and prospect on R&D of the heat utilization technology using the high-temperature gas-cooled reactor (HTGR). Regarding the heat utilization of HTGR, it is described about the outline, intrinsic safety, high efficiency heat utilization, and possibility of wide range heat utilization fields. In addition, we outlined the technological developments related to gas turbine power generation and IS process hydrogen production that are part of heat utilization technology and being undertaken by JAEA.
