Frame-structural effect of ligands on separation behavior of lanthanides in biphasic extraction system

Yaita, Tsuyoshi; Suzuki, Shinichi; Kobayashi, Toru ; Shiwaku, Hideaki

Frame-structure of a ligand would be one of the important factors for discussion about an ion selectivity of ligand on biphasic extraction system. Especially, the relationship between the coordination space around a metal ion and the bulkiness of a ligand is noteworthy parameter. In this study, we focused on the phosphine oxide composed of two phosphoryl groups (DPDO) and the carbamoyl phosphine oxide (CMPO), and discussed about relationship between extraction behavior and frame structural differences determined by X-ray crystallography and EXAFS. This study demonstrated that differences in symmetry of frame structure of a ligand effects on coordination structure of a series of lanthanides and their extraction behaviors.
