Three-body model for Odd-Odd nuclei; What of them did core excitations change?

While mean-field theory has been extensively applied in nuclei on the nuclear chart, majority of nucleus investigated has been limited to even-one. This would be because a relatively simple picture of even-nuclei and easiness to handle with mean-field theory. Recently, various fields such as astrophysics, nuclear engineering, and so on, require a knowledge of nuclear physics and theoretical calculations of a structure information on odd-nuclei as well as even-nuclei are demanded. To meet the requests, one has to extend the mean-field theory so that it is able to depict odd-nuclei in a simple picture and reproduce experimental data with a high accuracy. In this work, we present a three-body model for odd-nuclei (proton and neutron numbers are odd) based on mean-field theory, and discuss the results. We also give a discussion about core excitation and its effects on resonance width and transition probabilities.
