Delayed $$gamma$$-ray and conversion-electron spectroscopy was performed on A = 152 fission fragments, at the Lohengrin spectrometer of the Institut Laue-Langevin, Grenoble, France. In this study, a new decay scheme was observed for the odd-odd nuclide $$^{158}$$Pr. The low-energy structure of this isotope was analysed by comparison with the quasiparticle phonon model and the particle-rotor model. The main configurations for the ($$3^+$$) ground state and for the 4.7(3)-$$mu$$s ($$1^+$$) isomer at 115 keV were assigned to, respectively, $$pi$$3/2[541]$$otimes$$$$nu$$3/2[521] and $$pi$$3/2[422]$$otimes$$$$nu$$5/2[642].
