Vertical and horizontal distributions of caesium-137 on paved surface affected by Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant accident

To obtain the important information and parameter for the measurement of Cs-137 activity per unit area on paved ground, this study evaluated their vertical and horizontal distributions. This study showed that Cs-137 was retained in extremely surface layer with mass depth less than 0.5 cm$$^{-2}$$. This study also demonstrated the horizontal variations of Cs-137 activity and the relation of the variation with grid size.
