Analyses of new dose coefficients by ICRP; Occupational intake of principal 28 elements

Takahashi, Fumiaki  ; Sato, Kaoru   ; Manabe, Kentaro

Revisions of radiation protection regulations are being discussed based on the outline of the International Radiation Protection Commission (ICRP) 2007 recommendation in Japan. Internal exposure protection standards are to be reviewed based on the new effective dose coefficient. ICRP has published new dose coefficients for occupational intake of principal 28 elements as publications. Thus, differences in chemical form and dose coefficients are investigated by comparison of the publications with Japanese standards. Chemical forms are newly taken into account for internal dosimetry of some elements, according to new scientific knowledge. An influential factor is also analyzed for revisions of dose coefficients. Now, we are progressing to develop a new code that enables us to analyze influential factors on revisions of dose coefficients.
