J-PARC E07; Systematic study of double strangeness system with hybrid emulsion method

J-PARC E07 is an experiment aimed at studying double strangeness (S=-2) system induced by nuclear capture of $$Xi^-$$ in photographic emulsion sheets. Double strangeness systems such as double $$Lambda$$ hypernuclei, $$Xi$$ hypernuclei, and $$Xi$$ hyperatoms are important subjects to understand the $$LambdaLambda$$ and $$Xi N$$ interactions. Nearly 30 events of S=-2 events has been detected through the analysis, so far. Among them, an event named MINO was identified as $$_{LambdaLambda}$$Be. Furthermore, several candidates of $$Xi$$ hypernucleus are detected. An event named IBUKI was identified as $$^{15}_Xi$$C. We also aim to measure X-rays from $$Xi$$ hyperatoms which are formed after the capture of $$Xi^-$$ hyperons by Ag or Br nuclei in the emulsion sheets. The scanning of the emulsion sheets is ongoing. This work will be completed within a few years.
