Inhalation dosimetry; Physicochemical differences between primary plume and resuspended material

Tschiersch, J.*; Spielmann, V.*; Shinonaga, Taeko*; Hurkamp, K.*; Yoshimura, Kazuya  ; Okura, Takehisa ; Iijima, Kazuki  ; Miyahara, Kaname

Radioactive aerosol ($$^{137}$$Cs) sampled after the Fukushima Daiichi accident at Tokai-mura are compared to aerosol of remediation actions in the Fukushima exclusion zone concerning on activity size distribution and solubility type. The solubility changed from the type Fast-Moderate for the primary plume to the type Moderate-Slow for the resuspended aerosol. The doses determined with the measured parameters were compared to those using ICRP default values. Variability was studied and the range of potential inhalation dose was assessed for both types of radioactive aerosol.
