本章は原子炉物理の入門書の一部として臨界安全に関する知識を紹介する。炉物理の観点から臨界安全の目的、対象、方法について述べるとともに、臨界の防止に関すること及び臨界事故の歴史、メカニズム等について説明している。
This chapter introduces knowledge on criticality safety as a part of introductory book on reactor physics. From the view point of reactor physics, the purpose, target and method are explained, and the issues relating prevention of criticality, the history and mechanism of criticality accident, etc. are described.
