New evolution of nuclear science

JAEA has issued the future vision "JAEA2050+" in October, 2019, to indicate the direction of its research and development. In this vision, JAEA is willing to contribute to realization of carbon-free society and stable supply of energy. Moreover, JAEA is willing to induce various social innovations by cooperating with research fields outside of nuclear. Under this vision, the Nuclear Science Research Institute will facilitate various activities such as creating innovation by neutron science using JRR-3 and J-PARC, improving safety of nuclear plants, reducing burden of nuclear backend, and exploring emerging technology beyond the conventional scope of nuclear energy.
