軽水炉シビアアクシデントにおいて原子炉内移行時のホウ素がセシウム, ヨウ素の化学挙動に与える影響を評価した。ホウ素は炉内高温領域に沈着してセシウムを捕集する可能性があること、気相中のセシウムとの反応により揮発性ヨウ素化合物を生成させること等、シビアアクシデント解析にて考慮すべきホウ素の影響を明らかにした。

We evaluated effects of boron on cesium and iodine chemistry during transportation in a reactor in an LWR severe accident. We identified important effects of boron which should be considered in severe accident analysis. Namely, Boron containing the BWR control material is deposited at high temperature region in a reactor, which can lead to the capture of cesium vapors, and reacts with cesium vapor, which can lead to the formation of high-volatile iodine compounds.
