Integrated radiation imaging system based on Compton camera

Sato, Yuki

To contribute to the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (FDNPS), the author has developed an integrated Radiation Imaging System (iRIS) that combines a Compton camera, which visualizes the distribution of radioactive contamination in two dimensions, and a Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) device, and is currently conducting a demonstration test at FDNPS. The author has also succeeded in visualizing the location of highly contaminated part in three dimension by drawing the contamination image acquired by the Compton camera on the three-dimensional (3-D) model of the Unit 1/2 exhaust stack of FDNPS acquired by 3-D light detection and ranging (LiDAR). In addition to these results, the author will present the results of the demonstration test at FDNPS at the conference.
