Neutron beam filter system for fast neutron cross-section measurement at the ANNRI beamline of MLF/J-PARC

Presentation of the main contents of the research awarded the 2021 Encouragement Award of the Nuclear Data Subcommittee. A neutron filtering system has been implemented in the ANNRI beamline of the MLF building at the J-PARC facility involving the use of Fe, Cr and Si as filter materials to bypass the double-bunch structure of the incident neutron beam. The main characteristics of the filtered neutron beams with the three materials are presented as well as an evaluation of its performance in neutron capture experiments.
