After the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident, a model was developed to estimate exposure doses on the basis of air dose rates and personal behavior. The model can predictively and retrospectively estimate realistic individual effective doses without burden by changing the air dose rate data used for estimation. We developed three types of external exposure dose simulators based on the model to meet the needs for residents to more easily estimate their own doses. The simulators are used by municipalities in Fukushima Prefecture as one of their risk communication tools. This study shows the features and utilization of the simulators.
