MLFとJRR-3の連携

Collaborative use of JRR-3 and MLF

J-PARCの物質生命科学実験施設(MLF)とJRR-3は、高性能のパルス中性子源、及び、定常中性子源であり、両者はともに日本原子力研究開発機構・原子力科学研究所キャンパス内の近接した位置に所在する。MLFが順調に稼働を続ける中、JRR-3も2021年、長い休止期間を経て利用を再開した。これにより我が国では初めて国内で性質の異なる2つの中性子源を組み合わせた本格利用が可能となり、これまでにない日本からの中性子科学の成果が生まれることが期待される。この発表では、現在進められている様々な連携利用の試みや、両者の利用によって既に生まれている成果について紹介する。

Materials and Life Science Experimental Facility (MLF) and JRR-3 are world class pulsed and steady neutron sources and both are located in closely in the Nuclear Science Research Institute campus of the Japan Atomic Energy Agency. This enables full-scale utilization of two different types of neutron sources, and is expected to produce unprecedented results in neutron science from Japan. In this presentation, I would like to introduce various attempts to collaborative use currently underway, and the results that have already been produced through the use of both.
