Detection of trace metals in aqueous solutions by LIBS with liquid sheet jets

Quantifying metals in aqueous solutions is crucial in various industrial fields. In particular, the ability to perform real-time and in-situ analysis has been highly desired to monitor alkali contamination of industrial water or to detect residual precious metals in waste liquids for metal recycling. Recently, we have shown that LIBS with liquid sheet jets provide intense and stable plasma emissions. The present study reports the quantitative analysis of trace alkali and precious metals in liquid samples by LIBS with sheet jets.
