Studies of transient response for RF chopper in the J-PARC linac

In the J-PARC linac, an RF chopper produces a characteristic time structure in the beam bunch at the injection into the 3-GeV synchrotron. Incomplete chopped beam derived from the transient response of the RF chopper results in the beam loss. The investigation of the particle tracking and the countermeasure for the beam loss are reported using the particle-in-cell simulation.
