Collaborative use of JRR-3 and MLF

Nakajima, Kenji  ; Wakimoto, Shuichi

Materials and Life Science Experimental Facility (MLF) at J-PARC and JRR-3 are both large scale neutron scattering facilities in Japan. These two facilities are located only 800 meters apart on the campus of Nuclear Science Research Institute of Japan Atomic Energy Agency. In this sense, Japanese community is now able to utilize neutrons by combining these two high-intensity neutron sources with different properties. In this presentation, we will introduce the characteristics of both facilities, attempts at collaboration, and various projects using both facilities for neutron users.
