Advanced nuclear and renewables in Japan

持続可能性のある社会の構築、エネルギーの脱炭素化の実現のためには、原子力と再生可能エネルギーのシナジーが重要である。重要な観点としては、(1)原子力の持続的利用のための放射性廃棄物の減容・有害度低減技術の開発、(2)原子力と再生可能エネルギーを統合的に利用するエネルギーシステムの開発、である。さらに、(3)原子力エネルギー利用以外の利用を進めることは、原子力のユビキタス化のために重要である。これらの研究開発にJAEAは取り組む。

Synergy of Nuclear and Renewable Energy is important for future sustainable society and net zero of carbon energy. Important R&D is; (1) Development of advanced reactors for the reduction of the volume and radiotoxicity and recycling of radioactive waste. (2) Development of Integrated nuclear energy and renewable energy. And for the nuclear technology beyond the energy use also contributes to the society. JAEA is trying these R&Ds.
