Developing a high-performance seismic-isolation oil damper capable of responding to rapid earthquake shaking

JAEA is currently conducting research and development of a three-dimensional seismic isolation system as a measure to improve earthquake resistance in the research and development for the practical application of sodium-cooled fast reactors in the future. This paper presents an overview of the high-velocity oil damper, one of the components of the three-dimensional seismic isolation system that is currently being researched and developed.
