Development of mesoporous alumina for enabling domestic production of $$^{99}$$Mo/$$^{99m}$$Tc

In this study, we investigate the influence of surface properties of mesoporous Al$$_{2}$$O$$_{2}$$ on $$^{99}$$Mo adsorption and $$^{99m}$$Tc elution properties for practical $$^{99}$$Mo/$$^{99m}$$Tc generators. It is clarified that the quantity of -OH groups on the surface of mesoporous walls affects the adsorbed $$^{99}$$Mo amount. Our mesoporous Al$$_{2}$$O$$_{2}$$ demonstrates two times higher the $$^{99}$$Mo adsorption capacity than commercial Al$$_{2}$$O$$_{3}$$.
