At the J-PARC MLF, a two-dimensional scintillation neutron detector using wavelength-shifting fibers has been developed for single-crystal diffractometers. This detector is currently in use at BL03 iBIX and BL18 SENJU. The SENJU type detector, which features a sensitive area on a plane with 64 $$times$$ 64 pixels, each measuring 4 mm $$times$$ 4 mm, has external dimensions of 300 mm $$times$$ 300 mm $$times$$ 300 mm and weighs approximately 15 kg. Its compact size and light weight enhance its portability. By integrating this detector with a goniometer that rotates the sample, we have developed a compact neutron diffraction system. This system can be utilized to verify the quality and orientation of single-crystal samples prior to experimentation. In this presentation, we will display diffraction data from both single-crystal and polycrystalline samples measured with this system at BL10 NOBORU. Additionally, we will introduce the performance, configuration, and potential applications of this system.
