Development and investigation for more advanced neutron experiments using neutrons above eV at MLF

Tsuchikawa, Yusuke

In neutron science using the energy region above eV, a wide range of applied research is possible, including elemental identification and quantitative evaluation by using resonance absorption reactions, and two-dimensional distribution measurement using these techniques. In order to improve these measurement techniques, monitoring the fluctuation of the incident neutron flux and understanding the practical pulse function with high accuracy for precise measurement of resonance are important challenges. In this presentation, we will report on the recent development at MLF of an extremely flexible fiber-type monitor detector and the evaluation of the pulse function by analyzing actual measurements of high-energy resonances.
